Default Map Scrolling?

Really enjoying the game...tried it some time ago and it was quite buggy, but seems really better now. It really has a great feel.

One thing that drives us both nuts is navigating around the map to see what connects to what. If it could scroll it could help. Right now we have printed screenshots and pasted them to a big piece of cardboard

Many thanks!

Once you get used to what is where, not so bad, but still can play silly "gotchas" by hiding one hex from the next map grid and then pouncing. It would be better to have a line of sight of so many hexes, based on terrain? I imagine that it would be a complicated coding issue, so what we have is just fine once you get used to it.....where the heck is Dranesville again????

Jeff and Mutant Crew,

I have been giving this a lot of thought, and the beauty of the C63 game is that you can log in and see what the last turn brought, cogitate, and especially in a team game, correspond with your generals to coordinate movements and give orders. It is tremendously fun, and very intriguing.

I don't think that a multi-player 2v2 or more would work at all trying to cross time zones, travel, and work schedules, in a game as complex as this one is, if everyone had to be on-line at the same time.

Of course, I have no clue what that involves with coding and processing power. All I know is that the 2 Banfords have been having an absolute great time playing C63, even with it's quirks, but could not likely arrange to be on at the same time a lot. Orders are often sent via email or text...ahem...we call it couriers

Yours,

R. Banford

The current plans involve leaving the game system as is (asynchronous offline turns) and a new User Interface (3D scrolling map) and then if things go well putting in an online speed game system (say 10 mins between turns). Nothing is quite written in stone yet, but that's our current thinking.

Jeff,

Brilliant! I have the afternoon off and was just pondering our orders for the nail-biter with Cal and NEKid that we have going.

Having both options is a great idea! Banford The Elder and I would be pleased to help playtest and provide any documentation assistance that you may need.
